WHO WE ARE
We’re a young and talented group of engineers with a groundbreaking idea designed to contribute towards UC Santa Cruz's goal of Zero Waste. Get to Know Us
Team Lead-Power Subteam
JOAQUIN BANUELOS
Joaquin has coursework background in Analog Electronics Design, Printed Circuit Board Design and Renewable Energy Sources. He has experience using MATLAB, Cadence, PSPICE and Arduino microcontrollers. For this project, he will be working as a part of the Power sub-team. He will be in charge of implementing a hybrid power system as well as designing the power-flow for low-power devices. His goal is to power the device in the most sustainable way possible.
OUR TECHNOLOGY
Smart Slug Bin aims to correct the recycling problem at UCSC. Due to high contamination levels of recyclables from the campus, the local recycling center has had to turn away all campus recycling in order to keep their recyclables clean. This project aims to help remedy the dilemma by recycling only proper and clean products while also informing the user so that they can make the proper decision without us.
